I watched BSG: Razor (DLed it). I thought it was excellent and definitely fitted in well with what happened in the series and it explained a few things that make you go 'aha' now that makes more sense or has more meaning behind it.

Thought as much.

It seems to me that nothing can ever be easy. my friends have gone which is a bummer, but it gave me the chance to watch Razor. So i went to watch, got myself all prepared with some coke and some chips.....
But Noooooo did it work?? No it didn't. It was assured to me when i purchased the dvd player that it was a multi-regional player. One of the first to be made.... Wish i was stil back in canberra then i could that dvd player back to the bloke who sold it to me, If he is still working there and jam it.. you get the idea.

So Raven, looks like i will have to wait untill it is released here in Australia before we can discuss it.... Bugger.

One of my DVD players (they are both multi region) but one of them sometimes you have to 'trick' into playing one of the regions. I do this by putting in the cd, then it loads and says it is the wrong region, then put one in of the same region that I know does work, then take that out and load the other one and it works now...

I look up 'hackable' dvd players and buy them when I find them for under $40 bucks and hack them to make them multiregional. I figure once my DVD shop is up and running, I will offer the multiregional dvd players to people who might not otherwise be able to play region 1 dvds i sell. Typically, it's the no-name generic players that are manufactured for export to any country. It's a software thing that keeps it set to one region and just like secret codes you can plug into video games, you can do so to hack the software in the dvd players. It normally does't work for brand names so they can get away with charging an extra $50 to say it's 'multiregion' *shakes head at the corporations* It will cost you close to a hundred bucks to buy a multiregion disk player but I can find a hackable one for less then $40.

And you know what the frustrating thing is? I *cougg cough* gottheinstructionsout ** cough cough**and it said whetther or not it's a multi regional dvd player on the back, Lo and behold it does. Maybe it might need fixing. But i can still play region 4 dvds....

Battlestar Galactica (Spoilers)

New postby abacus » Sat May 10, 2008 2:22 pm

Is anyone else following BSG season 4?

I feel the episodes so far this season have been mixed in quality, but yestday's episode (Faith) was a real classic. I love it when they manage to sustain tension and excitement through an enitre episode whilst simultaneously allowing moments of pathos.

I am becoming increasingly confused by the goings on among the cyclons... I can't help feeling that if i'd only paid greater attention to the business in the opera house, everything would seem clearer.
I though i had a good candidate for the 12th cyclon, but after Faith, I'm no longer so sure. Plot. Plot. I love plot. And arcs, they're good too.

I haven't seen faith yet, but knowing that this season is the last season I'm a little disappointed, to be honest.

Usually if I see a 'filler' episode I just shrug it off. But Battlestar's plot is so complicated at this point and now we know it's got a limited life span.
Like Escape Velocity I think it was. an alright episode but it had little to no plot. it just bugged me.
I hope faith, and the few after it aren't disappointing.

I've been following it as well. But, as it has been leaving me feeling... uncertain I guess is the best word for it, I've been pushing it to the back burner. I now have the past 3 weeks to catch up on, having intended to do so tonight. I love the show, have loved the show but the first season had trouble catching me and the 4 season keep trying to loose me... *sigh* I will add some more to this when I catch up. Maybe we can discuss what we THINK is going to happen?!

Well, I was CONVINCED that Roslin was the 12th cylon. And now I'm not so sure anymore....

The final 5 are an interesting thing.

Before the 4 were announced I thought it's be funny to have the final 5 all be people in places of power:
The president
The admiral
The CAG
Baltar
Unknown

Now look at the final 4 that have been revealed.

The XO - Right hand for the admiral
Presidents aide - Right hand for the president
The Chief - keeps the birds in the air
Sam - ran two different resistances

They're all people while not being in direct, obvious power still made their way to inconspicuous places of power.

I'm thinking number 5 won't be someone big, like Lauren or Baltar, but someone unimportant, overlooked, but still powerful, like Gaeta.

Gaeta did all the pre-FTL calculations. He sent those calculations to the fleet. He was the third in command in the CIC. He was in a position to cripple the fleet, or even separate Galactica from the fleet.
Also, when they landed on New Caprica he found himself once again in a position of semi-power.
Maybe not consciously, but he still did.

He's my vote.

Unless you haven't seen any of season 4. Then.. sorry :p

So, I finally caught up if anyone wants to discuss.

I had wondered about Roslin because of her shared visions with the other Cylons but with her getting ill again.... Hmmm.

So.....

Now the list is short again...

And the hybrid, what she said to Starbuck is the same thing that was said in 'Razor' about her!!

With all the double meanings and cryptic references, could the Harbinger of Death refer to the end of the current species separations/clashes or the end all togther?!
