Someone was hinting about Jenny being his next companion. And at Comic Con, they said that the big send off was a farewell to the past, so to speak. They dont' wnat to keep doing Daleks and Cybermen so we can look forward to new creatures and new adventures instead of rehashing old enemies. The guy in charge is such a huge Who fangurl!!! LOL. You should have seen him. :)

I also heard a rumor he was seen with her in public places, they might be dating according to some rumors. :o how weird would that be? Well, technically she's not his daughter but then again, she is because of the gentics and that's why 'inbreeding' is frowned on even more so then the famlial relationship thing... it's positively Greek Tragedy in the making!

I would love to see a return of the time lords. What if jenny looked for him because she needed help with something really big, like ending a war or saving a world, and they found more lords there, drawn to the same situation. and what if they started bringing River Song into some eps, so we could see how they 'met' in her eyes.... :o

New monsters, new worlds, new companion.... arg!!! 2010 can't come soon enough! When do we get our specials?!!?! *needs fix - desparately jonesing for the doctor and I just finshed the series a few days ago*

I saw a rumour that there will be a short season 5 of only 4 episodes starting around Easter and that season 10 will be a full one. But as I mentioned, it's only a rumour.
I was enjoying the old enemies but it seems that each actor to play the Doctor only USUALLY get one or two episodes with Daleks and Cybermen. The Sontarans are even more infrequent and the Master is like the prodical son, he's there a lot or not at all. :) I look forward to more new baddies.

From you?

I never got to see any Dr Who episodes with the cybermen, but i thought the daleks were a little stretched out. They've been using them for decades, but each time he fights one it's always 'the last one' but never is. It sort of killed the anticipation.
I'd get excited whenever he picked one off, knowing the end of their race was coming, but a few episodes later they'd have an army again.

I'm tempted to watch the whole series one day. I want to learn more about the time war, and why it's locked and whatnot.

You and me both Tel.. I was going to say where is a good place to start..
At the beginning of course! But then again didn't someone mention earlier that the first Dr Who episodes have been lost due to a fire?
I have thought about starting it from when Billie was in it right at the begining of this current series...

I'm working on getting every episode in print. I also have those books that I believe are out of print. It will take some time, but eventually I hope to have a very complete history and I will of course share it with all of you. When I have everything, I'll have the big party I was talking about and everyone can come and lock yourselves in a house with me for a week and eat, breath and sleep Doctor Who. :)

What I heard was that because David is doing this play, instead of a full 13 episodes and christmas special, they will do 3 or 4 specials and then return to a full season for the following year. The specials will be the typical hour and a half so in the end it will be like getting an 8 to 10 ep season if you break it down to 40 minute segments the way a 2 or 3 parter would be broken down. It can't come fast enough for me. I heard they were doing the same thing with Torchwood, too. I guess they don't want to start full production until they have both up and running again?

David is quitting after the specials!!!

*SCREAMS AND CRIES*

http://www.david-tennant.com/

so, given he will be leaving, there should be some River Song plot in the specials or they invalidate the 'Silence in the Library' plot of her having known him for a while and his 'younger then I've ever seen you' appearance. To follow canon, they SHOULD have her with him in the final special when he regenerates into the new doctor. Then they can have her appear with the 11th doctor then and continue the plotline of their implied (marital?) relationship. This would allow series 5 to open with a new doctor and no complications for new viewers getting confused over the change so soon into the new season. :? That being said....

The new head writer Stephen Moffat is a HUGE fangurl and is responsible for some of the best episodes there are so I am remaining confident that the next series will be very good. I don't know if Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner are staying on for Torchwood or not but I believe they are the carnal element behind the overt sexuality on Torchwood thus maybe not a bad thing to have them leaving Doctor Who before they corrupt it. I will say that sitting in the panel at Comic Con, I wasn't so impressed with her but loved Stephen. :) *fingers crossed for good things*

I refused to watch any episode with David Tennant in it. I loved the doctor before him too much. But eventually i watched it and realised that DT was the best. I think that they'll pick a pretty good actor for the next doctor.

I feel that way about Tom Baker. It's okay Raven, you always love your first one best. The one certainty in our Doctor Who universe is that the one thing that is always supposed to change will not. That is our beloved T.A.R.D.I.S., for she is our constant. :)

Well, see, I saw some Who growing up and started watching this one from the Series 1 so Chris Eccelston was my 'first' technically and I didn't want David to replace him but David stole my heart.

It seemed to me that David's version is the one that actually really got you into the stories. Before him, you were just toying with the idea. Or so it seemed. He is a super, kick booty, Doctor. If he had a bag of jelly babies in his pocket, he'd be perfect.

Yeah, that will do, Aaron. The rest if backstory. Doctor Who was not on a set schedule where I lived growing up so I could never count on watching episodes. I was never able to watch it with any regularity but was always interested in watching it. I had always planned on renting them from Moris Classic Video but then moved away and, alas, they are no longer open for business. *sigh* So, when Series 1 started up with Chris and Billie, I made an effort to see it all and loved it. I thought he was a bit goofy and she was whiny but they worked good together. When David showed up... well... I sware, i was going to hate him. I really tried. Really really. :P

That's the great thing about this new Doctor Who series. 8) You don't HAVE to go back to the old episodes to understand what's going on. But if you do venture back in time to the classic series (and a couple of movies) it just adds to the many faceted crystal that is Doctor Who. :) There were so many references to classic episodes on the season finale for the 4th that I was giggleing and then just laughing. Some of them were from the new series, but most from the old and if you weren't very familiar with the old, they would just slide right by you. So, its like they kind of gave us a bacon treat or something. :D
