Picked up a dvd of The Five Doctors today, but it's scratched quite a bit. If it doesn't play I will be very cross!

then why didyou buy it?
you might be able to take it to the video store to get them to clean it?
We can do that here, for a small fee the video stores will buff them up for you.
As long as it is not a burnt dvd of course!!

Because it was used and only $11! I can (and did, because it didn't play) get a refund if it doesn't work. A new dvd of the same story is $30! I was hopeing it would play, but alas, no joy. The Five Doctors is one of my all time favourite stories, so it was worth a chance.

Actually was infront of a television tonight and saw the Doctor Who Christmas special on BBC America.
It was not bad at all.

Those who appeared to be foes at first were actually friends. I like the tree people.

Picked up the Invasion this weekend with animated episodes 1 and 4 to replace lost video.
It is a very fine view.

No. Sorry I wasn't very clear.
The original story was all live action with Patrick Troughton. It is a long 8 part story and episodes 1 and 4 out of the 8 are lost. Some wonderful people back when it was originally broadcast in the 1960's recorded the audio from their tv sets, so the original soundtrack is intact. The parts 1 and 4 have been recreated with animation to replace the lost ones and we Whovians can now enjoy the whole story.

Season 7? Nothing yet.. It's only just finished being filmed.
the only spoilerry thingy i can give you is that Steven Moffat said Amy and Rory's demise from the show will be very sad....
I'm kinda annoyed with that cos Rose's departure was sad same as Martha's, after the doctor just about destroyed her family, and Donna? Don't even go there.. So why is Amy and Rory's leaving going to be another sad one....

When a companion leaves it is usually sad. Even from the beginning.

Is Grandfather a term of affection for the doctor? Cos if it isn't then The Doctor isn't the last Time Lord out there. According to this he has A daughter running out around there as well!

The character Susan, was the Doctor's granddaughter.

As he told Donna Noble, it wasn't the first time he was a father.

edit=I have rather been suspecting that maybe instead of his Mum that perhaps the woman who removed her hands from in front of her face in End of Time was Susan. Though he had left her on earth. Hard to say I guess.
