Fringe (Spoilers)

Here's the place to discuss science fiction and fantasy TV and Web series, plus their characters, actors, and crew.

i watched it on television...lol 8)
Geek: slang term, noting individuals as "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, etc." Formerly, the term referred to a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken, bat, snake or bugs. The 1976 edition of the American Heritage Dictionary included only the definition regarding geek shows.

Well, I PVR'd it and finally watched it last night. I was hooked from the first min, my only issue as I am was able to suspend disbelief as I did for all those years of x-files. Is that the plane was able to land itself...the system that they talked about does not yet exist. You can vector in planes on auto pilot but only at cat 3 airports...so was a little disappointed in that.

However, other then that I will be tuning into the second episode to see where this all goes.

I just finished watching it. My arm hurts because I lay onit the entire time. (Which felt like hours).
For the first half I was semi-hooked. It looked like an interesting show, seeing as I had never seen X-Files.
But after they got Walter added to the team I started really liking it. Probably because his 'accident' in the car had me in a coughing fit from laughing.

The twist ending caught me completely by surprise and I eagerly await the continuation of this series. hopefully FOX won't axe it until atleast after a full season.

Who played Walter's Son, though? It started nagging at me as soon as i saw him on screen.

Hey Aaron, I don't know if you know it already or not but i was over at YourTV.com and they had an ad flash up that looked familiar. Fringe is being fast tracked and will be airing on Wednesday at 8:30 on 9.
Looks like I won't have to illegally download this series. Yay :)

I had the "twist" figured out from the beginning...there was just something nagging me about that one.

Walter's son is played by Joshua Jackson who made his debut in Mighty Ducks which lead him to his heart throb sensation as Pacey Witterin Dawsons Creek.

Well the second ep is really good as well. Overall I'm pretty darn happy with the show still. I think my favorite part is the relationship between the three of them. I love that they didn't decide to make Olivia and Walter's son...damn, can't remember his name...enemies or have a whole load of tension between them because honestly, they've got enough weird crap to have tension about without having a ton of interpersonal strife.

Anyone notice that Walter is the same actor who played Denethor, the Steward of Gondor, in The Return of the King?

Joshua Jackson is the name of the actor.

I've decided to do things the moral way and am also waiting for it to air on wednesday. What time does it air, again? Hope it's not interfering with House.

HOUSE!!@@@@ FELICIA DAY EPISODE!!!!!!

Okay, love Fringe. Love the Cow. You'll have to forgive me. One of my nicknames is Heifer. :P my best friend, when we were still bitter enemies, called me that name when she worked for me and was trying to get me to lose my temper and fire her (to lose face in front of the staff). So, she looks at me in all seriousness and says, 'Heifer' and I look at her and in complete deadpan, normal voice tone say, 'moo'. She completely lost it, started laughing so hard... so it kind of stuck after we became friends and she collects cow stuff sometimes because it reminds her of me. :P

So, any show with a cow in it wins my heart over.

Oh and it's a really good show to boot. I'm old school Twin Peaks and X-files so for me, this has just a hint of both. I can't help but see Leland Palmer when I look at Walter. :P

Doubly so.

I had to work last night so I had to bite the bullet and pick one thing to record, and miss the other. I picked House and went to work. when I came home I was nicely informed that we had suffered a blackout when I was gone. so I didn't get to watch either one, lol.

We are. I sense an anti-USFGS movement here. Something making sure we all missed it.

FELICIA DAY - Do you really need any other encouragement to watch House? I mean, come on! The show is actually very good, sometimes brilliant even, but Felicia just makes it all the better.

BTW, I posted a Fringe review at http://uberscifigeek.com if you are interested in giving me feedback.

ok I've watched the 1st two episodes of Fringe and with the third one on the way... X-FILES! I immediately thought when I started watching it but it has the opportunity be very different from X-Files... it can offer us a bit more I think than what the X-Files might have...
Also I noticed they use the same music in Fringe as they did with Lost... the suspense music... that quick violinish sound? anyone else notice that?

I've noticed a few shared elements with Lost. One thing that really stands out to me so far is the camera work. Notice the camera is typically looking UP. The angle seems to be shot from the hip almost in many scenes. I wonder why they chose that? *wants to track down Mac and Gilly and ask them what that angle means again* lol

I also noticed that as well... we seem to be looking up at them a lot.. and let me tell you it's kinda a new experience for me... Since I'm always the one that's looking down at people!
