Dollhouse

New postby fidelis » Wed Jul 30, 2008 4:44 am

So have any of you heard about Joss Whedon new project, Dollhouse? Well here is what the official website says.

Dollhouse wrote:Joss Whedon, creator of groundbreaking cult favorites "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" "Dr. Horribles Sing-a-long Blog" and "Firefly," returns to television and reunites with fellow "Buffy" alumna Eliza Dushku for a thrilling new drama, DOLLHOUSE.

ECHO (Dushku) is an "Active," a member of a highly illegal and underground group who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Confined to a secret facility known as the "Dollhouse," Echo and the other Actives including SIERRA (Dichen Lachman, "Neighbours") and VICTOR (Enver Gjokaj, "The Unit") carry out engagements assigned by ADELLE (Olivia Williams, "X-Men: The Last Stand," "Rushmore"), one of the Dollhouse leaders. The engagements cater to the wealthy, powerful and connected, and require the Actives to immerse themselves in all manner of scenarios - romantic, criminal, uplifting, dangerous, comical and the occasional "pro bono" good deed.

After each scenario, Echo, always under the watchful eye of her handler BOYD (Harry Lennix, "Commander in Chief," 24), returns to the mysterious Dollhouse where her thoughts, feelings and experiences are erased by TOPHER (Fran Kranz, "Welcome to the Captain"), the Dollhouse's genius programmer. Echo enters the next scenario with no memory of before. Or does she?

As the series progresses, FBI Agent PAUL SMITH (Tahmoh Penikett, "Battlestar Galactica") pieces together clues that lead him closer to the Dollhouse, while Echo stops forgetting, her memories begin to return and she slowly pieces together her mysterious past.

DOLLHOUSE revolves around Echo's blossoming self-awareness and her desire to discover her true identity. But with each new engagement, comes a new memory and increased danger inside and outside the Dollhouse.

So anyway what is everyones thought, are you looking forward to this series? are you excited, or don't really care?

I didn't make it to the panel but someone in our group did. I'll ask around and see if anyone can post their thoughts here. I know there was some discussion going on.

This show has peeked my interest since the first tidbit I found floating in space.

Okay i've watched so beware of SPOILERS BLEOW!

Did i watch the pilot episode? It starts out with two bikes racing each other through the streets.. if it was i was kinda disappointed by it.. not really much in the way of explantion as to what was going on.. more of a sorta "here ya go! Just pick it up from here!"
But i gotta say that little blue number Eliza was wearing at the beginning had me drooling for a bit..
I will watch the next on though so have no worries there..
I just have two questions..
The boss lady. whats her name in the show and real life and what i have i seen here in before?

Her name is Olivia Williams. She's been in a few things (IMDB entry) but she reminds me of Mira Furlan who played Delenn on Babylon 5 and currently plays Russo on Lost (IMDB entry).

Want to talk about a sexy lil number? how 'bout Tahmoh Penikett (Helo from BSG) in the boxing match, all sweaty and freckled... :P

Actually, I'm thinking Ecco and Cierra might hook up, from the way the look at each other. It's like they feel something they don't understand, a curiosity or compulsion. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong but there have been at least 2 'looks' that seemed to be a set up for future entanglements. Not to say she won't hook up with the FBI guy, too. :D He's got a nice little obsession going.

I'm thinking of other Joss Whedon productions that ended up having two girls get together. I could be completely wrong but it looks suspciously like his M.O.

And yes, I wouldn't mind having him obsess over me. It might be nice to have someone obsess over me for a while. It's been a long time. :D
