If you missed this season here in the U.S., BBC America is the new hook-up. :D

I would say that depends on how well you receive classic television. My son, for example, would be hard pressed to get to sit through a black and white episode of Doctor Who BUT by showing him the first episode of the new series, he fell in love, watched seasons/series 1-4 and all the specials with me and is now interested in going back a little further to previous Doctors. If you are cool with classic TV and a purist, begin at the beginning. :)

LOL I totally am like that too! I'm interested in watching Classic Who but I've seen some clips via DW Confidential and some of the effects are just so hokey that they make my eyes water.

Well, yes, by today's standards they are a bit hokey. But you gotta remember, um... well, that was ... er... 20, 30, 40 years ago?

it was cutting edge back then! .... okay, well, it was still pretty hokey back then too but still, the finest hoke to be found anywhere on tv! :P

True... I think that's the awesome thing about DW. They play up the hokey! :]

I love those hokey classic episodes! I think they did pretty good with the extremely low budget they had. Cardboard, latex, lots of paint and a fog machine! Well, I do have to also remind myself occasionally that the older episodes were considered a children's programme and was allocated time and money to fit with that.
The new ones with computer technology just can't replace the guy in the rubber suit. Like the Blood Clot Strawberry Jam Cyclops Antimatter creatures in The Three Doctors! They are my favourite. :D I'm sure they have an official name, but I have no idea what it is.
