Stargate: Continuum (Spoilers)

New postby Raven Kai » Fri Apr 11, 2008 7:07 am

Early Look at Stargate: Continuum

*snip*

GateWorld wrote:Beware of minor SPOILERS for Stargate: Continuum in the review below -- but nothing more than the info already released in MGM's summary.

While visiting the set of Stargate Atlantis this month, GateWorld's editors were invited to attend a theatrical screening of the upcoming DVD movie Stargate: Continuum. We entered the theater with high expectations, as long-time Stargate fans who are longing for the glory days of SG-1 and waiting for something to come along and revitalize our enthusiasm for the franchise that we cover day-in and day-out.

We walked away as reborn Stargate fans.

For GateWorld owner Darren Sumner Stargate: Continuum is, simply put, the best movie or episode he has seen in years. It is easily in the top five for all 12 years of Stargate history, and he is still debating whether he may like it more than some of his all-time favorites: "Within the Serpent's Grasp" / "The Serpent's Lair," "The Fifth Race," "Jolinar's Memories" / "The Devil You Know," and "Lost City." If it is not better than these, if it is not the best Stargate since SG-1 began, Stargate: Continuum is certainly in their company.

Follow the link for the rest of the story. I am SOOO excited.

I haven't seen AoT yet (delivery eta Monday).

but I did hear alot of negative comments about it. To be expected it HAD to wrap up the plots. Continuum doesn't. I knew before hand that Continuum would be better.

But I'm still eagerly awaiting it. When i heard what happened to Daniel i was shocked that they'd do something so drastic.. it looks like it will be an amazingly good story.

AOT was a little disappointing...Continuum looks like it will make up for that.

I think my favorite part of AoT was when Teal'C sniffed his pits. ROFL I just had to rewind that and watch it again.

Anyway, AoT was good but yes, it had too much to accomplish in a short time so it did not have the flow of a regular season. I think we are going to have to accept the movies the way we do good 2 parters, like 'Heroes' where the character growth an development happens at a different pace then we are used to.

Anyway... um.. Something happening to Daniel? I have avoided too many spoilers so um... I am just going to assume you mean... um... Season 10. :D
The way I heard it Daniel has minor 'mishap' and loses his leg.
Was it just me or did anyone else notice that Teal'c was sporting the symbol for APOPHIS not BA'AL?
If he's meant to be the first prime of Ba'al he'd have Ba'al's symbol.

Hey yeah your right! didn't notice it until you mentioned it.

Yes it is an alternate time line. MY understanding is that it's just Sam and Cam, that everyone is in that alternate time line. :? Which would mean to me that Teal'C would be the first prime of whicher lord took control (Ba'al instead of Apophis) of Earth, Daniel... Well, if Jack is in the alternate time line then maybe we can assume he and jack never went back, the first Stargate movie events never happened and Daniel is um.. hmm... Vala would still be Quetesh, right? oooh, it's exciting to speculate!

Did anyone notice, in the early 1990's the character Dave Lister in Red Dwarf, lost his arm in an alternate reality. Eventually, he returned to the regular universe and his other self returned to his rightful place in the alternate one. So one verson has his original arm, and one has an artifical one.
Any view of things that is not strange, is false.

I want to believe!

No, not in the new X-Files movie. I want to believe that this is going to be a slice of awesome, old-school, goa'uld-bashing, timeline twisting SG1. Cos i miss it.

Goa'uld bashing? From what i've seen of that tiny little trailer, there should be plenty to go around.... Yeah Classic SG1.

Thats still 2 months away!

I read that, and I couldn't help myself.
Apparently nothing is sacred, although, in my defence, I did observe EBB's rhyme scheme.

Stargate SG1

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
Teal’c can reach, when showing all his might
In noble deeds that set the sky ablaze.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need to screen repeats each night.
I love thee freely, not like in ‘The Light’
I love thee even when I’m out of phase.
I love thee with the passion Daniel wrought
Out of his grief. I love thee as a friend.
I love thee with a supple love, that caught
In networks’ wrangles, finds it yet can bend
Around these many changes and, in short,
Will love thee still, when thou, at last, ascend.
