Now I am sure that most have you have already heard about this, however, if you haven't I am sharing. As I have recently delved back into the world of my beloved Farscape by being the winning bid of the entire series off of e-bay...found this article while surfing around. Albeit a little old...but I am never the less excited at the prospect!

Awesome stuff.
The funny thing is i haven't seen any farscape what so ever and it was originally an Australian production. Itsn't Ben Browder aussie? Same with Claudia Black?

Claudia is but Ben is from Alabama. His family races cars near where I live. I'm close enough to the Martinsville Speedway to nearly hear the engines on race days. (Home of NASCAR by the way)

Yes, I remember hearing about this the day it was announced. I was SOOOO STOKED. I'm glad you posted the link here. I've been talking about it at work with some other fans.

Aaron YOU HAVE TO SEE IT! It's addictive. Totally nudged it's way in to my SG1 spot in my heart. Totally can't decide which I would not be able to live without but I did bring my Farscape with me and left my SG1 box set with my stuff up north.

Dementi, I got the box set several years ago on ebay and the seller switched shipping addresses. My box ended up in Germany with a US Soldier being sent to Iraq and I got his rare stamp! LOL I never did get that box set and have NO idea what to do with the stamp. It's still put away as I was goign to send it to the soldiers last known address but that box is no longer valid and the post office won't accept it.

Argh! I am so sorry to hear that. Trust me if I had known that it was going to be near impossible to find it all these years later I would have bought it when it first came out...alas I was a poor university student. I am making up for that now!

As for the webisodes, I am wondering if they will be of the 'lost script' that was circulating a few years ago. While Peacekeeper War basically encompased the major story lines from what was to be Season 5 there was a Season 6 story I had heard about. I am wondering if they will use those scripts for the webisodes (to prepare for the launch of a new series or more movies) or if they will write something new. Just so you know, the 'lost script' dealt with D'Argo!!! ;)

Exactly. Besides, retail it costs about $480 to replace Farscape seasons 1 thru 4 and for less then that you can buy the entire new SG1 box set on Amazon. SO, if I lost it during the move, I'd have an excuse to rebuy it, right? ;)

Say "Hey! Thanks" to Hey! Nielsen

New postby Raven Kai » Fri Dec 28, 2007 6:21 am

SaveFarscapeAnnouncements wrote:This came in an email from Hey! Nielsen today, a clip from an article on their site, Hey! What A Year: 2007 Insights And Highlights http://heynielsen.com/blog/2007/12/hey- ... and-h.html

Quote: One of the biggest stories at Hey! Nielsen this year was the influence of fans in the sci-fi genre. These intergalactic fans had an international flair, as members came from the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and beyond to support shows like Stargate Atlantis, The Dresden Files, Supernatural, The 4400, and movies like Serenity.

It's a fact that a science fiction show has never been the #1 Rated show of the year (unless you're counting The Beverly Hillbillies1963-64 run - I mean, it's like those people were from another planet). But don't kid yourself, sci-fi fans are among the most passionate, knowledgeable, and organized groups on earth. Yes, there have been more popular TV shows than those in the sci-fi category. But how many of those have their own conventions full of people dressed like their favorite character? Just take a look at some avatars of our members and their reccommenders, you'll get the idea. From what this email indicates, it seems to me the Nielsen company is actually doing what the site promised. They are listening. Nielsen is learning about science fiction fans. They know we are smart, organized, and feel very strongly about our shows. What else can we show them about us? What else do we need them to know, especially about the issues that have concerned, and will continue to affect Farscape? Post and plot your ideas here. http://watchfarscape.com/forums/showthread.php?p=793352

What should we do next? Well, for starters, there is a comment form at the bottom of the article http://heynielsen.com/blog/2007/12/hey- ... and-h.html Perhaps we should be our usual charming selves, and show our appreciation for a positive reaction: "Hey! Nielsen, thanks for listening!"

Then we can to get back out there and continue to support our show on the Hey! Nielsen site. We have a lot to say to the Nielsen company, now that it seems that we have their ear. Listen

Happy New Year, Scapers!

I've created two Hey!Nielsen accounts and for some reason can not actually log into the site. I've been communicating with the web team for several months now. Everyone else I know has been able to get in there. Here's a chance to really make an impact on the future of SciFi television. If you haven't already go over to http://heynielsen.com , sign up and start voting for your favorite shows!!!

Farscape Website Finally Updated

It hasn't been touched since The Peacekeeper Wars so the relaunch of Jim Henson's Farscape /Creature Shop websight is an encouraging change! We know the webseries in in development but no news has really been put out there since that announcement. With the website being updated, I guess it means they are preparing for something big?!?!?!? *fingers crossed* It's an amazing site anyway so even if you are only a Farscape fan, take a few minutes to take a look around the website. I used to have ambitions of working with the Creature Shop. Jim Henson was one of a very small handful of 'stars' who really made a difference in my life and I mourned when he passed. I am very thrilled that the family business is back in the hands of the family and I look forward to the many wonderful films to come. MirrorMask was the most recent *LOVED IT* and forthcoming in addition to Farscape is the sequal to The Dark Crystal. So. what are you waiting for? Go check it out!

I think I have seen the whole series through about 4 or maybe 5 times now. Started again a few months ago but because of my work schedule, I ended up missing a few eps because my family watched it without me.

A few days ago I got whacked in the eyeball by a branch as I was wandering out in the wild. It seemed okay but yeserday morning I woke up and it was really bugging me. I kept blinking it because it felt like something was stuck on it though I couldn't see anything. At work, there was another scaper there so I walked up to her and pointed at my twitching eye and said,

"Is this bugging you? Well, it's bugging the Hell out of me."

We both laughed and said nothing else. Everyone else thought we were nuts.

I think that is a great way to get something new. I wish I could buy all of them but funds are low :( However, Farscape season 1 is on iTunes now and I can afford those and I can watch them any where. Also, all SG1 seasons are on there as well. I love technology but I wish it wasn't so expensive...

Everyone was! Except for ben.

Gigi Edgly, Anthony Simcoe, Virginia Hey, Lani Tupu - Every one of those are Aussies. That's why I loved Farscape all those years ago, it was as Aussie as a successful show can get.

ravenkai wrote:Exactly. Besides, retail it costs about $480 to replace Farscape seasons 1 thru 4

That's a joke, RIGHT? Damn! Only a few months ago I got the box sets for 30 bucks a pop. that was $120 in total for the series (free delivery, too). Buy Aussie, we're cheap ;P

I remember hearing about the webisodes, first thing that popped into my head was Sanctuary. It's an interesting new world out there for today's geek.

Yep. Retail price for farscape is still about $120 per season. I wanted to get the Aussie special releases that came out about 2 years ago for an average of $30 a piece but then the prices jumped up for a while and the shipping was outragious.
