Doctor Who: Series 3, Episode 10: Blink

New postby Raven Kai » Sun Nov 18, 2007 8:26 pm

A young woman called Sally comes to regret breaking into an old, abandoned house. There the Weeping Angels wait. As people begin disappearing, Sally intercepts cryptic messages from a mysterious stranger known as the Doctor, who's trapped in the year 1969. But can she make sense of them before the Angels claim their prize?

Has anyone else watched this yet? If so, let's talk about it! It's definitely one of the most 'thrilling' I've seen.

Ive seen that one! Isn't it just great!
"Life is short and your hot" got to remeber that one.
I really liked that episode and i alike the whole 17 dvd thingy he did and how it all came to a full circle in the end.
i hadd a discussion with my dad about that. Dad reckoned if Sally did'nt give him the clues to help them out then they wouldn't have got stuck in 1969 in the first place. But i said since 1969 had already happened at that time, it didn't matter whether giving the Doctor the clues would have caused them to go back.

Crap i hope it makes sense cos i'm going cross eyed trying to read it....

Oh, it makes perfect sense! It's the 'Grandfather Paradox' so to speak. If it already happened, then it will happen. If she hadn't given him that info the whole 'time and space exploding' thing that the Doctor mentioned, unless you are Captain Kirk ;) I just thought the episode (had to delete a W!) was brilliant. I wonder about the angels, if someone finds them in the basement and decides to haul them off somewhere, will they come out of it again or would Sally OR the Doctor have done something to make it permanant, like welding iron around their arms so they can't be removed from each other or position changed if they whole thing was moved.
Yes, the easter Egg on the 17 DVDs was awsome as well. I think it was a nice vignette away from Doctor but showing how he impacts the worlds around him. There has been a question posed in another episode (resisted the W!) as to if the bad things that happen are because the Doctor is there. Would people have died if he hadn't randomly chosen certain places to visit? Oh ,and I can't wait to see what they were hunting with the bow and arrows?!

I just love him! I really like Martha too. Feel Bad for her, though.

I love this show more and more every day. *sqees even though she doesn't know what it is but everyone else seems to do it when they are happy so she'll try it on and see how it works for her*

yeah that was a great trick in the end with "angles" forming their ownselves into a prison. But if any one went back there to try and remove them or impision them even more then they would have been sent back in time cos the angles have their eyes open.

But they are looking at each other. I need to listen again but I think Doctor said that if they looked at each other it would be permanant, that that was why they covered their eyes, because they couldn't even look at each other.

Yeah now that you mention it ti think they couldn't look at each other at all. Part of the "curse" for lack of a better word for their immortality. Thats why they wanted the Tardis. To be able to go back in time themselves to undo it. Thats why the other people who saw them went back in time in the first place.

Umm for the episode?

What i like about this one as well is that it's told from Sally's POV and not the Doctors.

Click here to see a Preview for Blink

Sally decides to take photos of a creepy old house in the country. As she breaks in the front door and begins to explore, snapping photos as she goes, she notices writing peeking out from behind the peeling wall paper. As she begins to peel it back, a warning emerges. Beware She peels another piece away revealing the message, The Weeping Angel Another piece peeled away reveals the message: Oh, and Duck! More peeling. No, really. Duck! One more piece pulled away reveals: Sally Sparrow DUCK NOW! Totally freaked out that her name would be under this old wall paper, she ducks just as a large stone comes flying through the window at her head. She points her flashlight to reveal a statue of an angel holding her hands over her face. Perhaps this is the weeping angel the message refers to? She turns back to the wall and peels back the covering of the final part of the message: Love, The Doctor 1969

Ah, click on it again and make sure you click on Windows Media Player. It uses RealOne by default. Just change the player and you should be able to watch it.

You have DSL, Right?

The first episode of Doctor Who to freak me out was "Horror of Fang Rock". I have never looked at a cabbage wrapped in cellophane the same way again. :D

Super episode!!! I just watched it and really enjoyed it...I like the episodes where the Doctor isn't in it a lot, but the story is so good that the episode carries itself...

I wasn't scared, just fascinated! :D
Well maybe a little as they were trying to get into the tardis...
