What was the most recent movie you watched?

Here's the place to discuss science fiction and fantasy films, plus their characters, actors, and crew.

What was the most recent movie you watched?

New postby Victoria Winters » Sun Feb 07, 2010 3:55 pm

Well, we dropped off on our reading and our music listening, so maybe we're watching films?

My most recent viewing was of "Hooper" with Burt Reynolds. No kidding.

Well the most recent one i've watched a chick flick i watched with my mother and Mel. It was called New in Town and it was pretty obvious in what was going on .. *Yawn*.. It had Renee Zellwieger and Harry Connick JR, (Whom my mum adores) as well as a whole bunch of people whose faces you know but you never can remember their real names or where you saw them from.

Hooper? can't say that i've heard of it. was it any good?

Ugh, sorry about the chick flick, Aaron. I would have been just as bored as you were. Fortunately, my mum likes Johnny Depp. :D
Hooper was made in the 70's and it's about the life of a stuntman in Hollywood. It was suprisingly good, probably because Burt Reynolds actually broke into acting originally as a stuntman. Sally Fields is in it too, before they made Smokey and the Bandit.

Yes, she was quite hot.

Watch a video of classic Doctor Who that was a very long story. Over 2 hours, so I guess it's officially a movie. The Talons of Wang Chiang.

Yes, old and yes good, Aaron. I don't like many war films, but I did like that one. It had a lot to say without it being in your face. It makes you think. I won't say anymore cause that would mean spoilers and it is definitely worth seeing without, shall we say, certain expectations.

Oh i've seen little bits and pieces of it so i've got a general idea of what goes on.....
That film had pretty much Aussies best actors in it and some of them are still going after having already spent 20 years in the Aussie tv industry.

That's true, so how could I be offended? But then, most romance movies are aimed at women and I don't like them at all. :tongue6:

LOL
It appears to already be taken by a certain lovely ginger lady I have seen.
:)

Gonna go through the movies tonight and pack what I can live without seeing for a little bit. I am off tomorrow, so for the occasional fun break from packing, I'll pop in the few movies I absolutely must see before they go into a box. If all goes well, I believe that 'Dog Soldiers' will go well with breakfast.

A Knight's Tale. I had never seen it before, believe it or not. I quite enjoyed it, though it was far from 'period'.
