Eco-Friendly Habitation and Lifestyle

Here's the place to discuss real, modern science and science fiction that's become actual, or theoretically possible, science; paranormal phenomena in both the media and real life; and how to use humanity's expanding knowledge of the cosmos to keep Earth from becoming Earth-that-was.

I know of a great bad dream herbal remedy! I have ear damage and they ring often, this has given me nasty nightmares since I was little. Make yourself a sachet of dried jasmine and place it between your pillow and pillow case. You can adjust the amount that suits you, you should be able to notice the scent when you lay on it without it being overwhelming. The scent creates good things for your mind to concentrate on, even if it is battleing another sense or just stress from the day. :) I know you asked Raven, but perhaps you won't mind my suggestion.

What about Hay fever? I'm getting sick of always having a blocked nose... Changed my bedding, dry cleaned all the shhets and blankets, changed my washing powder numerous times and aired everything out... A real pain in the butt....

No ideas for hay fever relief myself Aaron. Maybe you should ask at yer local health food store. They may even have a homeopathic remedy. Those are often pretty good. :)
Wow, thanks Pegaus Angel!!! I don't recall every being called 'wise' before. Weird, lots of times, but this is the first for wise. :D

 Wise and worldly. Thank you. *bows humbly* Yes, I have been away and will continue to have limited access because of pc problems (explained elsewhere) but fear not, I shall return.

As for sleeping problems, I'm sure you've tried herbal teas? One thing I do is establish a routine. I go to bed at different times because of my changing work schedule but if you have a routine that you do before bed time, your body knows and goes into rest mode. Light candles or incense, put on a particular cd that you never listen to unless you are resting, there are lots of little things you can designate as *presleep* activities. Along with letting your body know it's sleep time you can also try adding herbs to your diet, things like valerian, kava kava, black cohosh, lemon balm, tarragon, cheveral root, sage, thyme...

Aaron.... Try adding Fenugreek to your diet. You can take it in capsule form or grow the herb and season your food with it. It smells wonderful, tastes great and it boosts your immune system and is what kept me healthy all the years I did not have insurance.

You Americans probably know about this but i only discovered this because it's now available world wide.
The Amazon Kindle. I think this is the most brilliant idea ever. can't belive i never thought of this... as soon as i can scrounge up $260USD i'm getting it.

I'd love to have it. I've got a friend working on a multimedia album that will be interactive on something like the Kindle. If you get it, you can help support USFG by following this link to buy it. :)

True Aaron, you are rather scary too. 8) But in a good way.
So, in theory, I may already know this guy. hhhmmm...

Oh, recently I picked up an interesting book for cheap at a used book store called, The Yankee Magazine Book of Forgotten Arts. It has everything from home remedies to how to butcher a sheep to how to make your own bricks to build a house! If anyone is curious, I will be happy to add more details, as I think this book is out of print and was only available through the Yankee Magazine to begin with.
