MirrorMask

New postby Raven Kai » Thu Nov 15, 2007 8:23 pm

I got me some new toys this week. I haven't gotten myself anything nice or just because in a while and lately I have been going really nuts because of real life SO screwy right now. I saw these on sale and had to splurge. I spent less then $30 including shipping so you can't beat that. I am thrilled to have them. Only one problem. Maybe you can see it....

The Helena box set

The Queen box set

The Valentine box set... which is inserted upside down so I can't see the details of the figurines. Now, I am a 'MOC' and 'MIP' kind of girl so I am compelled not to open these unless I can afford a second set for playing with (yes, I do still play with toys... sometimes... mostly Bionicle with my son but he seems to have outgrown them this summer). Now, I am equally compelled to buy not just one but two Valentine sets because I need one to see clearly and one to play with. this one is worth a lot more since it's a screw up, right? I don't know if MirrorMask will ever have any real collectors value except for the Niel Gaimen or Creature Shop lovers such as myself but it means a lot to me.

Yay me!

These are pvc figurines of the characters from the movie MirrorMask.

Helena is the young girl who gets pulled through into another world, replaced by her doppleganger, the 'daughter' of the black queen, which is the other box set. The 3rd box set is her companion in this world, Valentine. Each set includes minor characters in the film.

The one set was inserted upside down and in my mind that means I need to buy another one because it's worth more left messed up and I am all about MIP or MOC collectables. No breaking the seal in my world!

I hope I always remain childish! It's would be a better world if we all still had the imagination, hope and faith of a child!

I wouldn't go that far, but I think you have a point. The world would be much more fun if we would learn to relax a bit and accept our childish impulses, and retain our ability to look at the world with wonder in our eyes.

Yes, I do have these and I acquired the book at a thrift shop that was going out of business. Crazy, it's a brand new book and I got it for $3. It's a gorgeous book. I just LOVE Neil Gaiman! :)

hhhmmm...toys and stuff...I did get a really cool Castlevania Dracula action figure from my honey back on our anniversary in October. :D One day I'll figure out this computer thingy and take some pictures. The figure comes with two accessories. A vampire bat and a giant electric purple eyeball with a plumbob. 8)

Yep, one of those. :D I suppose that since the purple eyeball villian floats, he needs some sort of reference so he doesn't go all kattywompus and also perhaps a means to ground itself when shooting off killer electrical beams.
