Oh the inhumanity of it all! :(
Don't know why. Hopefully it's for the better, but I was so looking forward to flying up to visit Mum in April with that new book keeping me company.

Just saw that the official release date is July 26th. (sigh)
One may read the first chapter now via Jim Butcher's official site.
I'm not gonna do that to myself. The wait will be long enough without me teasing myself.

A little bit of spoilers for you. very minor ones.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has no body, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends — and his own soul — Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic...

July 26th isnt coming quick enough...

Just got an announcement from the Jim Butcher site about chapter 2 being up to read. Also that the first 5 will be available for online reading before the book comes out in July. There will also be Jim Butcher reading an earlier draft of the first chapter to us, if we care to listen.

Am not gonna do it. It will make the wait worse! I must be strong in this!

gggrrrr...
